Since our students are in middle school, some are not fully aware of the bodily changes that they are experiencing. Due to financial burdens some of our students lack proper hygiene, which has caused issues with the possibility of distractions in the classroom and bullying. With the hygienic items in the cart, our students will not have to worry about foul odors or the possibility of being teased for reasons outside of his/her control.
The feel good component deals with the physical equipment, which will allow our students to indulge in activities that they have not experienced in our PE classes, YET! (bowling, ping pong, etc.) With this equipment, students can experience the variety of physical activity and try something new that may spark an interest of activity that could be for a lifetime!
The "choose good" component strictly deals with the goggles. Some of our 8th grade students have been lucky enough to experiment with a set of these goggles that were borrowed last year. Many of the reactions to the experience of feeling under the influence were not positive. I want our students to have that same negative mindset towards the use of illegal drugs, especially at an age where peer pressure can be a huge influencer towards one's decision making. With our own goggles, multiple grades can have an opportunity to share this educational experience!
