Research shows that reading is one of the top ways for students to be successful both in school and life. By reading, they build more vocabulary and critical thinking; they explore life problems and learn about solutions; they become interested and interesting and engaged, active and participatory in life!
Students need access to lots of books; they need books in their hands! We are working on a project with history teachers about exploration and exploitation and need these books to read, learn, and discuss together. Students will decide if "Columbus Day" should be "Indigenous People's Day" and write to their representatives.
