By donating to our project, you will help us go digital and transform into a 21st century classroom driven by the latest technologies. The students will use the Chromebooks, interactive notebooks, virtual manipulatives, and dry erase whiteboards while learning. Particularly in math, these tools and resources promote student engagement with new material, lessons, and intervention. And with the access to virtual manipulatives with computer technology, students are able to explore and answer math problems, monitor their progress, and receive instant feedback - which will be used for my teacher (digital) data binder and as a way to assess their understanding of a concept. Considering that many of my students do not have personal computers or internet connection at home, this will be most helpful in the teaching and learning process. The use of these Chromebooks will create an environment for self-exploration, adventure, discovery and fun in the designated math stations.
Your generous donation to our project will help our students shape their thinking and writing in math by building their skills and making the connections through real-world applications.
Through apps such as NearPod, Formative, Quizizz, and Zaption, just to name a few, students will enjoy ready-to-teach, interactive lessons and formative assessments. Students will be able to work independently to create constructed responses to justify their reasoning and draw a graph or work out an equation to model examples then simply submit it to me. Using Twitter and Edmodo in the classroom, we will create a professional, open-forum for questions and feedback, to be used daily! Ultimately, this will give students the consistent practice they'll need to help master skills, concepts, and state standards which will be assessed through the computerized version of ACT Aspire at the end of the school-year. And, your help will be ALL the difference!
