My class is part of a Book Club at our small rural school. Many of our students live too far out to go to the Public Library, and many are also too far out to even get Internet. We formed the Book Club to inspire them to read, but found that they were only being exposed to text. Graphic novels are a feast for our student's eyes and introduce all kinds of information. Graphic novel have the best of both worlds for our readers. These books include both pictorial and textual literacy to inspire our students to take more challenging books.
