Students who read on their own do better in school. This has been proven time and again through research. In my classroom, I want to be able to get good books into students hands so that they can see the joy of reading. I remember falling in love with reading because of great books that had the ability to transport me to different places and times. That's what I want to offer to my students.
The key to succeeding for my students is found in their ability to read on their own. That's what I want to offer, the chance for students to experience what reading can offer them in life.
