Welcome to my project! I'm Kelley Deason, the Library Media Specialist at the Linda Nolen Learning Center. My school is unique because we serve students throughout all of Shelby County who have special learning needs. Our kids are great and so is our school!
As the Library Media Specialist, I work with all the kids at my school and try my best to foster a lifelong love of reading. It's also my responsibility to teach kids valuable information and technology literacy skills. In addition to my other hats, I also believe that the media center is and should be a place where kids can find answers to their own pressing questions. I strive for my library to be a place where kids can explore and discover. I want kids to absorb and create! It's in this spirit that last year, I created a library S.T.E.A.M lab where the kids get to build and create based on their individual learning interests.
