A key element of teaching ESOL students is to provide pictures and realia (real life items) to support language development. When working with students in Kindergarten and students who are new to English and the United States it is important to focus instruction on letter recognition and letter sounds. These are the first steps toward reading.
The Alphabet tubs will allow me to focus my instruction on both letter recognition and English language development at the same time. I have almost 90 students that I work with weekly and these supplies will allow me to get the most out of the limited time I have to work with my students.
