My music class is primarily singing and I feel that there are so many musicians that do not sing, they play music. We need a desk bell set, Boomwhackers, egg shakers, and storage. These instruments will allow me to visually and aurally see them match the beat and rhythms.
The Boomwhackers will be used to teach pitch relations and how they connect to the science of sound. The students will be able to compare sizes and learn how the shorter and object is the higher the pitch will be. All of these instruments will also be used to help the children have a kinesthetic approach to music. Too much of their day is spent in desks and playing and moving to music will help their brains wake up and release some of the natural energy students have.
