The students in my classroom are inspiring to say the least. They are middle school students diagnosed with Autism and do not let this slow them down for 1 second! These students are in 7th and 8th grade and are working on various levels in reading and math from kindergarten to 5th grade. Tablets would allow my students extra practice on their independent level while their grade level is not being taught during small group time. This will allow them to continue gaining skills during down time, and they will not notice or mind when being able to work with a tablet!
My students also have communication needs that comes with their Autism as well. Technology has come very far in terms of creating apps that will help children communicate or speak for them. Not every student is approved for a communication device through our school district, but many more could benefit from one. With these tablets, apps can be installed to help my students communicate better and bridge that gap between the students.
Please consider helping my classroom and making a world of difference for these 8 deserving students!
