The materials we are asking for are going to make a difference in my students' learning and improve their school lives tremendously. The chair pockets will teach the students how to be organized which will improve their environment and focus. They will be able to get to the materials they need without wasting time trying to find them in a cluttered desk. Students will be able to store their white boards, markers, and independent reading books in the chair pockets. These are essential materials that they use frequently during core math and literacy instruction.
I strongly believe that students need to be able to move throughout the classroom environment because learning takes place in every aspect of the room. The rug will help to create a cozy environment that students can transition to throughout the school day. Students will be able to sit on the rug to enjoy read alouds and reading/writing workshop and to participate in classroom discussions.
