I am raising money for the cheerleading team! Currently, there are no uniforms for the young athletes to cheer on the girls and boys at basketball games. This club was started last year to give these young athletes the opportunity to learn about teamwork, persistence, pride, and respect. These young athletes use cheerleading as motivation to get better grades in school and to keep up positive behavior in and out of the classroom.
Working in an inner city school, the funds are tight and extracurricular activities often are overseen. These young athletes have proved their dedication to practices and games, they deserve to feel like a team in matching uniforms! I know that having these uniforms they will feel confident in their abilities and continue to be successful in and out of cheerleading. My goal as their coach is to teach them about being apart of a team. Teaching them that hard work isn't just done at practice but outside of practice too. I hope that these young athletes will learn something from being apart of a respectful team!
