Many times, kids come to my office looking for a quiet, soothing place to deescalate and work through difficult emotions and situations. They often struggle to regulate themselves in these moments of crisis. This prevents them from attending to their academics, interrupting the learning process.
Creating a calm, relaxing environment is a priority to help students get through these situations so they can be academically successful. Creating this environment will be possible with comfortable seating, aromatherapy, and soothing lighting. Fidgets, stress balls, and putty will further assist students as they work to gain control over their emotions and gain coping skills to manage the stressors they face in school.
About my class
