Expensive calculators are difficult for our students to buy. Therefore, most only use them when they are at school and have only been introduced to them in their junior or senior year if they take a higher level math course. This software will allow teachers to project the whole calculator plus it's screen so students can follow along. This project will reach teachers from Algebra 1 to AP Statistics, and make the calculator aspect of each class much more achievable for students.
In the past, it has been difficult to explain steps out loud for graphing or running statistical tests with a class full of students. Students fall behind or can't find specific buttons and that leaves the teacher running around like crazy trying to catch kids up. With this software, all students will be on the same page and be able to see each button and each calculator function being selected.
We are in a district that has no funding for new technology due to consistent yearly budget cuts. This project will allow 5 math teachers to reach all 100+ of their students yearly. Calculator technology is important for post-secondary education and beyond.
