I am challenged to do more with less and be creative in how I reach each and every child. We need books on yoga and yoga mats to help us work through the many distractions and overstimulation of today's world.
Yoga is helpful tool that can be easily implemented into the Pre-K classroom. Yoga helps children to develop body awareness, learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through breathing, awareness, and healthy movement, and builds concentration. The children are able increase their confidence and positive self-image and feel part of a non-competitive group through the practice of yoga.
Yoga benefits me by giving me alternate ways to handle challenges in the classroom, is a healthy activity to integrate with lesson plans and a way to blend exercise into our daily routine.
