In my classroom, the students do not have an open, inviting area where they can go sit and do work. I would like an area for when students get frustrated and angry they can go to and feel safe. I will also use this area for independent work for students who have earned to go there and work. The materials I'm requesting (carpets and sofas) would help create this area. I have many students who resort to getting out of their seats and trying to walk out the classroom, but if I can offer them somewhere to go and stay in the classroom, it would benefit me and, most importantly, the students.
