These materials will definitely help my students because the majority of my students have specific learning disabilities. I need to be able to make learning fun, as well as challenging.
These materials will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn using materials available to them. These materials will be great resources because it will allow the students to interact with each other while learning through reading, writing, and learning numbers - skills they need desperately to become better students. The Beginning Sounds Phonemic Awareness Box will help students that I work with who have phonemic awareness goals in their IEPs. It will enable me to introduce these sounds to my students through visual aids and a hands-on approach.
The Lakeshore Write and Wipe answer boards will help because we do a lot of group work because I work with students based on the academic levels. The Lakeshore Write and wipe boards will help us to work as a group, but give each student a chance to work independently. Sentence building is in the goals of a majority of my students; unfortunately, they are not able to write simple sentences. The sentence building-learning center is an excellent way to get them on a fast track to building simple sentences. I have students that are in the first and second grades that cannot identify most of the letters of the alphabet. The Write & Wipe Alphabet Practice cards will not only help them learn their alphabet, but how to write the letters, as well.
