Students will be able to use this device in three different scenarios in my kindergarten classroom. The first scenario is whole group learning. When we are on the carpet in a whole group setting, for example, my kids can use the device to respond to my teaching, through lessons using Nearpod or Kahoot It! The second scenario is small group learning. When students are working with partners in a small group setting, they can synergize and use the iPad Mini to quiz each other on spelling words or sight words, through apps like KidDoodle. The third scenario is independent learning. If a student has the device and he is working by himself, he can take reading comprehension quizzes on the device or search on a kid-friendly search engine for facts about a science topic.
Whether my kids are working in a whole group, small group or independent learning environment, the iPad Mini would open up many doors for new learning to take place!
