I am requesting a variety of hands on science materials for my students. A light table and light exploration materials would encourage discovery as children put colors together to make new colors on the light table. It will build problem solving skills as children build with magna-tiles and think about how to build it taller or wider. It will encourage question and exploration as children wonder "what would happen if I...?" Research in early childhood education tells us that early experiences matter and these experiences can help shape our young children into life long learners.
By providing my children the hands on materials that promote question asking, discovery, and problem solving, We are building their confidence, self esteem and taking the steps necessary to instill a life long love of learning in my students, so they can be successful, not only in kindergarten and elementary school, but in all of the years to come.
All children are scientists!
