Some of the students in my class are not read to at home on a consistent basis. Therefore, they are not exposed to as many vocabulary words as their higher income counterparts. I want the students to be exposed to high quality literature in a comfortable and inviting center. I want the students to be interested in going to the library center and enjoy being there. I want students to be exposed to new and challenging vocabulary words. If you can donate to this project, you will be able to close the 3,000 word gap and give these students a chance to experience quality literature on a consistent basis. They will be able to sit in a comfortable setting and share stories with peers and read individually with a teacher. They will hear word fluency and learn comprehension skills. Lastly, they will develop a lifelong passion to read and explore new worlds through literature.

About my class
