For my classroom project, I am requesting laptops and headphones to go with the laptops. I want my students to be able to use the laptops when I am meeting with small groups. When they are using the laptops, they will be on reading programs used to help them learn areas that they struggle in. They will also be able to read/listen to books to help them up their reading levels.
Additionally, students will use the laptops in math to help them learn current content that we are practicing in class. This gives me another way to work with individual or groups of students that need extra learning/practice on the topic. I can track students trends on how they are solving problems online and always have the data ready and available to use and direct my teaching.
Furthermore, we are going to use the laptops for research in writing. Learning how to research is a skill that my students constantly need to work on. Sometimes it will be inquiry-based learning and sometimes it will be research with specific guidelines.
By implementing technology into my classroom, my students will begin to see their hard work rewarded by going up in their reading levels or earning rewards on the many different programs I use. As students gain their rewards and higher levels, their confidence grows and then their learning and knowledge will expand.
