If given this amazing opportunity, the students at Roosevelt Elementary would be able to create individual and collaborative projects that show their learning. IPads are accessible for any age and skill level. Those that are still learning to read and write can record their voices and create videos of their learning. They can use them to research and learn information. Older students may use them to authentically show their learning and choose which app or which program they would like to use.
IPads allow students to be creative and allow me as the teacher to tailor learning to fit their needs.
For example, my third graders would create a book report using the iMovie software. They would create a book trailer, allowing them to write a summary, choose pictures that fit the story, or music that fits. They would read or listen to the book on another app on the iPad. My first graders would be able to create an animal report using video and audio recording. They can also use story telling apps to retell a story that they have heard. These are just some of the ways my students could use the iPads. I believe that they would truly benefit from learning how to utilize them.
