I teach a 3-5 grade Moderately Intellectually Delayed special ed. classroom. My students are not just my students they are my family. My Paraprofessionals, students and I all work together to make everyone feel loved and empowered in the education process. We laugh, we cry, we learn. My students spend multiple years with us, so we form very strong bonds. My students are a huge part of the school. We have jobs and clubs with the General Ed. population. We don't "hide" away in our room, we build relationships that change every person that we meet. A majority of my student's face physical, emotional, cognitive and economical issues. But, we push on and be the best that we can be. We, not only, study academics, we learn life skills and build a foundation to become functional adults in our community. We appreciate your becoming a part of our family by helping us achieve the goal of academic and life success.
