I want to use flexible seating to create a more comfortable learning environment for my diverse learners, where they get a choice as to where learning best happens for them. I've read a lot of research that points to a correlation between student learning environments feeling "like-home" and students' motivation to learn. The more comfortable a child is the more receptive to learning they become.
Not all students learn in the same way so why should they all have to sit the same way? I love math because there is more than one way to find the correct answer. So shouldn't there be more than one way to sit and explore how to find that answer?
