My students love to read nonfiction texts, but it is also one area that they struggle with. Whether it is finding the main idea, comparing and contrasting or looking for text features, my students would find themselves feeling challenged and frustrated if they did not completely have an understanding of the text.
With Scholastic News and TIME for Kids magazines, my students will become more confident when reading information that happens in real life. With consistent practice, they will be able to gain a better understanding of topics and ideas when reading, while increasing their opportunities to enhance and sharpen their reading skills.
