Many of my students don't have access to reading materials at home and our classroom doesn't have a library that is age appropriate for first grade students. These books would help my students to increase their phonemic awareness, fluency, reading comprehension skills, and it will build their vocabulary. These skills will help the students feel successful and empowered! Through reading my students will also become better writers. There is a correlation between reading and writing. With this leveled library the students will be exposed to books that will spark their creativity and inspire them to create their own stories to share with others.

About my class
