All of my students are at a Level 2 in their FSA scores. Informational text is very important in for students to find text evidence, inferencing, context clues, and main idea and details to just name a few. These students want to take their learning to the next level and reach proficiency with their education by reaching at least a Level 3, if not a Level 4 or 5. With their regular text book, the students would be able to use the Scholastic News and work on the skills that they need to work on in their weekly stations. Students would be able to gain more knowledge and move themselves to the next level while also learning about text.
