My students are just learning how to read in first grade. It is still essential that these little ones experience having someone read to them on a daily basis. For each student to have time to listen to online stories while in class, we must have a pair of headphones for each child to listen to a book without having the background noise of 20 other stories simultaneously read by others in the class. Headphones will not only help students listen to a story, but it will also offer the students the opportunity to practice their reading, record it and listen to themselves when they are done. Such a simple classroom tool can have a major impact on their academic success.
