The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help me teach social emotional skills at a preschool level. To help my students learn how to interact with others in a positive manner, have them practice communicating by playing with dramatic play toys.
Over the last seventy-five years a number of theorists and researchers have identified the values of such imaginative play as a vital component to the normal development of a child. Having proper materials such as a shelf to house storage bins and manipulatives like linking monkeys, dinosaur counters, magic water marbles and crystal climbers would help me and my students to be able to work on their fine motor skills (manipulatives) to build those skills.
Our classroom would benefit from dramatic play grocery/animal items to create those moments of social emotional interactions. With having students with special needs as well as general education peers in our classroom we would like to have items that would be beneficial to all students. That is why a “A Place For Everyone Calming rug would help everyone student enjoy story time or calendar time. We thank you for your generosity.
