"Save our City" is an end of unit project which encompasses many of our standards for natural disasters. This project allows students to plan a fictional city in the midst of natural disasters. They have to decide and plan how the city should be laid out and have to keep in mind natural disasters such as tsunamis, avalanches, earthquakes, volcanoes, and fault lines. Chromebooks needed to keep students engaged during the project, and allows students to proceed through the steps of the project. Students will need Chromebooks to research various natural disasters and the environment they would most likely be found. After the student is familiar with the natural disasters, they will use Google Docs to collaborate with others to build a map of the city. This map must allow the residents of their city to survive and plan for the natural disasters.
