I work at a title I public charter school that does not have a music program. My students are interested in music, but do not have time during the school day to take music classes. The ukulele is an excellent starter instrument that could help broaden my students' experiences.
My school is made up of kind and driven students who would really benefit from an engaging music experience. Many students are interested in playing an instrument and the ukulele is compact and relatively easy to play. The ukulele is also an instrument with which they might not necessarily be familiar, so it would be fun to introduce them to the ukulele.
