Learning materials designed specifically for students’ needs are essential for fostering successful student-driven learning.
I am requesting a Cricut Air machine and related materials as they will enable me to easily create personalized flash cards and study charts for each of the 95 students that I teach daily. In the past, I have spent countless hours making these resources by hand for students. The Cricut Air machine will cut down on this time and allow me to have more time and energy to plan engaging activities for students.
A paper cutter will also cut down on the time that it takes to prepare these materials. Chart paper will allow me to create reference charts and have a place to continue teaching when the Smartboard (as it often does) malfunctions.
Reams of copy paper are necessary to print many of the primary source documents that my students use in class every day. Finally, pencils and highlighters are basic tools needed when working in any classroom, especially when using primary sources.
