Students will benefit from having these seats to sit in rather than the typical old school student desk with the chairs attached. Students will be able to sit around tables to better collaborate and discuss math with their peers. Also, students will be more comfortable in class which will ultimately improve their performance.
My students currently sit in desks where they are not able to disconnect from the table. I have tables for the students to sit in but no seats. One specific problem students sitting in old school desk causes is that students are not able to work on the same computer effectively. Sitting at tables, students are able to sit closer and collaborate more effectively. In my classroom, students do a lot of collaboration and need to be able to move away from the desk often.
Also, students need to be comfortable with taking the FSA. Testing season is right around the corner and I hope to have better seating for my students. Again, if the students are more comfortable in the classroom, they will ultimately be more productive.
