My students are diverse in language, culture, academic levels and social needs. Albeit this is the sounding cry of most American public schools today, my students are unique in creating a unifying school culture with all their collective strengths despite their challenges. They strive to be “warriors” in academics, behavior, and social interactions on campus. While our students rise above challenges such as homes without Internet, books, electricity, stable familial environments, or even adequate nutrition they still lack valuable educational resources. I believe that all students have the right to succeed as well as have the educational tools to prepare them for high school and beyond. However, my students still struggle with a absence of needed resources such as technology and current literature to keep up with their literary appetites and make literary connections with their classes, themselves, and the world
