I am starting to build workstations that can assist my students with needed hands on activities that can build background understandings that can be built upon for future concepts. Workstations can be difficult to monitor so, all students will complete a response sheet in order document each of the answers.
Students need to feel successful when completing activities. Workstations can be used for remediation or extension. I am building a library of activities for students to use in order to increase understandings as well as create a mind set demonstrating a can do attitude.
Matching activities, like mastering math games, write and wipe graphing boards, give students immediate feedback which will allow a student to move faster (or slower) than their peers.
