I teach at a title one school, so many of my students are not exposed to rich literature at home. Many of my students love to hear me read, but when it comes to reading on their own, they are scared. They don't know what type of book to pick. Over the years, I have seen many of my students (especially the boys) acquire a love for nonfiction. This is why I would love to have the ability to offer my reluctant readers more of a variety of books to choose from.
