My goal is to have my below level readers increase in the areas of fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. The majority of my students are minorities and economically impoverished. Many are English Language Learners. Language acquisition is extremely difficult for them. Therefore they struggle significantly in the areas stated above.
The ways in which the Amazon Fire 7 can benefit my are tremendous! These devices would be an important resource for my students to use while not involved in Shared or Guided Reading group by accessing intervention programs such as "I-Ready" and "Star Fall". They would have the capability to listen to audio books and hear how a fluent reader sounds. Read books on My-On during independent reading time. Record words to practice. Do projects on the internet. Down load educational reading apps such as Khan Academy Kids, Fourth Grade Learning Games Vocabulary Builder, Kids Vocabulary, Kids A-Z, The Kids iReading Comprehension to name a few.
Yes, the Amazon Fire 7 would definitely be a beneficial tool in my fourth grade class. My students are eager to learn but need love, support and resources to do so. Please help me help them reach their maximum potential. Be the "Spark" that lights their Fire!
