The proposed She Lit Digital Media Literacy Resource Center will facilitate growth in supporting literacy instruction in my high school social studies classes. This classroom resource center will support student's capacity to make literary connections across disciplines through inquiry based research using digital media. The proposed items will facilitate and foster a collaborative, culturally responsive learning environment.
The Samsung wired headphones will encourage students to deepen their understanding of historical content by listening to language and engage in critical conversations about their learning experiences.
One of this projects priorities is to facilitate differentiated instruction using a variety of media tools. The BluSmart Laminator will support students' with publishing digital media literacy projects to display in the school's gallery walk display of student work. Students will be empowered as producers of their own work to engage in productive discourse about their published work.
Also, students will have an opportunity to collaborate frequently at media stations. The Turn in Your Work Organizers will support student groups with organization and project management by allowing them to effectively maintaining research planning guides. Additional resources proposed to support this project include culturally relevant literacy resources professional experts to enhance the teacher's pedagogical and professional knowledge in an effort to build a culture of learning within the classroom setting.
