Through your donation of 30 headphones to my classroom, students will be able to use online resources such as Tumble Books, Storyline Online, KOL Books and a variety of apple apps to listen to stories being read to them. Some of their favorite authors on these sites include Robert Munch, Marc Brown and Dr. Seuss. Many of these stories were stories I grew to love at home reading with my parents every night before bed. Many of our students do not have that luxury. These headphones will help build their love of reading, a variety of books read, fluency and reading stamina.
The headphones we are currently using were purchased from the local dollar tree.
To say they have seen better days would be a major understatement. Even if they press the headphones against their ears and tell everyone within a ten-foot radius to work quietly, they are still unable to hear the story. Your donation of new headphones will affect many years of students. Story by story, we can begin to build up to tomorrow's leaders through a love of reading!
