With each school year brings growth, love, hope, encouragement, and happiness into my classroom. My preschool room is often time the very first classroom they enter during their educational journey, and I strive to make it a positive experience for each child. We do all of our activities together; breakfast, group times, play, stories, science, art, math, lunch, etc., all within the classroom! This classroom is their home away from home, so I strive to make it a comfortable and inviting space for them each day. The very first thing you see when you enter the classroom is our reading corner, which serves as a quiet spot for children to read or listen to a story. It is also a place where students can go to relax, hug a stuffed animal, and have a calming place to sit or lay. With this project, I would love to make their reading corner a more inviting space that my students will want to explore on a daily basis to discover their favorite books and characters with a book shelf, large pillow, plush animals, and books on CD, all inside a magical canopy of lights!
