We need graphing calculators, primarily TI-84s, in order for students to excel through high school and in college. Students need to become proficient in the use of these standard tools. Graphing calculators enable students to SEE there data, not just as numbers but as comparable graphs. The TI-84 is the standard in mathematics as well as science. The graphing capabilities aid students in the development of critical thinking skills. These calculators will also help students view data and comparing data sets. Students will be able to discover and compare anomalies within data sets as well as consistencies within data sets. The requirement to become familiar with these calculators becomes increasingly important as students progress through their education.
