The creativity of my students is boundless...unfortunately, our budget is minimal. In our quest to truly integrate the arts into all areas of the fourth grade curriculum, we are asking you to help us secure painting supplies for our classroom. In fourth grade, we explore geometry, specifically lines, angles, and polygons. We will use our protractors to measure acute, right, and obtuse angles on our canvas and block those lies off with masking tape. We will then use the paint and brushes to cover the exposed canvas.
We will integrate art into our language arts curriculum by using the calligraphy markers and art paper to write poetry, similes, and idioms describing a person who has inspired us. The resulting piece of writing will be mounted on the back of the canvas and presented to the person.
