With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read and write independently and bridge the two languages. Students love both fiction and non-fiction. These books will be a wonderful way for students to explore the world and create new worlds of their own. Many books are unavailable to our students at home based on their reading levels, these books will allow students to enjoy their own books and challenge them at their specific level. Along with Spanish and English books, students would be able to hear and listen to the sounds of words in a listening center. They will be able to increase their vocabulary and make connections between the two languages. Lastly, to increase their written language skills I’ve asked for composition journals. This will assist in the transfer of language and skill.
