My students are most engaged in their learning, when they are able to actively participate. I teach 4 classes of 25-30 students each.
In order for my students to feel fully engaged in their learning, I would like to increase the level of hands-on participation in cooking labs. In our cooking lab, we are outfitted with three home kitchen stations, but only one complete stand mixer which has to be shared between the 30 students during a class period of 50 minutes. The current set-up prohibits working in smaller groups and therefore limits the number of students who can actively participate.
To facilitate working in smaller groups in the cooking lab, I would like to add two Kitchenaid Stand Mixers to fully outfit each kitchen and allow all students to have the opportunity to work in smaller teams and experience hands-on cooking.
