Books are an invaluable gift. Books: open doors, offer information, provide escape, and promote imagination. The books will begin my classroom library of graphic novels. While students independently delve into these books, they will meet funny, smart and confident characters.
An abundant and diverse classroom library allows students to have a choice in their book selection. When students have a varied selection of books, they are more willing to try something new. The graphic novels allow English Language Learners to follow a story and get excited about reading.
My goal is to have each student rattle off books that they have read, loved and would recommend to other people.
