"If a child can't learn the way we TEACH, maybe we should teach the way they LEARN."-Ignacio "Nacho" Estrada
I would like to start slowly convert my classroom from a traditional seating environment to a flexible seating environment.
Last year, many of my students were in a flexible seating classroom. I like to start this transition by adding a comfortable couch such as a futon. The futon would be a great place for my students to work both independently and collaboratively with their peers.
I have heard that flexible seating can provide students with more engagement in their learning as opposed to their attentiveness while sitting in classic classroom seating. This is going to make my students shout with excitement that I am following their previous teachers' footsteps.
Allowing my second graders to feel comfortable in their classroom will help tremendously in keeping them engaged and motivated to learn. Thank you in advance for your kind support and generous donation towards making this project come alive.
