My second grade students are engaged daily in collaborative activities to build literacy and math skills while using computers and iPads. My students learn and practice skills in OneNote, actively participate in our classroom blog and learn much needed keyboarding skills that help them to type and publish their own stories.
Through the use of technology, my students remain engaged, interested and excited to learn while I am able to adjust the rigor of activities and differentiate instruction based on individual student needs.
Having access to headphones would allow for students to engage in these activities, while minimizing the distractions these devices can cause for other students.
