My 5th grade students struggle with finding their voice. They are so bogged down by school work and tests that they have a hard time letting loose and having fun. With these ukuleles we can learn relevant songs that they listen to on the radio, along with some inspirational songs.
Music can be inspiration and help mold our everyday moods. I want to encourage my students to listen to and learn to play music that inspire them and make them happy. The more they listen to this music the more it will be ingrained in their minds.
They will also practice fine motor skills that not many students practice anymore. They can find a passion for music that can help them get scholarships into college.
