While my students come from low income families and may live a very inconsistent life where they may not be sure what to expect, what to eat, or what to wear, when they come to school I want to ensure that their classroom is the one place where they have consistency and where their learning needs are met. They should not have to come to school and worry, be upset, or embarrassed about not having the supplies to complete their work. I want to make every student in my class is as successful as they can be. I want to help motivate them! I don't want them to feel discouraged and lose hope or ambition.
Every Child deserves a champion, an adult who will NEVER give up on them, who understands the power connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. -Rita F.Pierson
New great books will be wonderful for my students. Not only is reading very important, I want to establish a love for reading in my classroom and encourage those who may not like reading so much to find a book with a great adventure they can escape to, forgetting their worries and imagining they are the characters as they read! I want to create adventures for these students that only books can give them.
