I am creating different centers in our classroom and this bookshelf would be a wonderful addition to the reading center. The height of the bookshelf makes it easy for the students to reach a book on their own which facilitates independent reading. The books will be displayed so that the students are able to see the cover and pick something they would like to read, rather than looking at the spines. Some children are not able to read yet at this grade and the way the books are organized will help them with their choice. This display of different books of different genres will get children excited about reading!
