In my classroom, I teach the Wilson Reading System which is designed for kids who have had difficulties with reading or need a multi-sensory approach to reading. I work with small groups of up to 6 students at a time. Having a kidney shaped table will allow us to collaborate and work together closely while we build our reading skills.
Students stay more engaged and focused as they work collaboratively in small groups with the teacher. A kidney table will provide a space away from other distractions. Students will be able to fit comfortably around the table and be able to see each other so they can fully participate in all learning activities.
